Who we are

Handmade is a Mac app for editing React projects. This policy covers the app and usehandmade.com. Reza Ilmi operates Handmade. For privacy questions, contact reza@usehandmade.com.

Account information and Google sign-in

When you sign in with Google, Google and our authentication provider, WorkOS, process your sign-in. Handmade receives account information such as your user identifier, email address, name, and profile image when provided.

We use this information to identify your account and provide sign-in and account features. Google sign-in requests basic profile and email information. It does not request access to your Gmail, Google Drive, contacts, or calendar.

Account and authentication information is processed by WorkOS. Session credentials are also stored on your device so the app can keep you signed in.

Your projects and connected services

Handmade works with project files on your Mac. When you use AI features, prompts and relevant project context can be sent to the AI service used by that feature, including Anthropic for Claude. When you use connected services such as GitHub, the app sends the information needed to perform your requested action.

Review the files, prompts, and actions you share with these services. Their own privacy policies also apply to their processing.

Website and app analytics

The website uses Vercel Web Analytics to measure visits and understand website use. Website hosting also processes technical request information needed to deliver and protect the site.

App builds with analytics configured use PostHog for product events and technical information. Events can be associated with your account identifier after sign-in. The app stores an analytics identifier locally. The app analytics configuration disables automatic interaction capture and session recording.

Support and service providers

If you contact us, we receive the information you include in your message. We use it to respond and investigate the issue. Avoid sending passwords, private keys, or unnecessary confidential project information.

We share information with service providers as needed for authentication, hosting, analytics, support, and features you use. These providers may process information outside your country. We may also disclose information when required by law or to protect the security of the service.

Retention, security, and your choices

We retain information as needed to provide the service, resolve support requests, meet legal obligations, and protect the service. Retention depends on the information and the service provider involved. No storage or transmission method can guarantee complete security.

Contact reza@usehandmade.com to request access, correction, or deletion of your personal information. Depending on your location, you may have additional privacy rights. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request.

Signing out ends your app session; it does not by itself delete your account. Uninstalling the app does not delete information held by connected services. You can manage Handmade’s Google access in your Google Account settings.
